IRON MOUNTAIN – Dickinson County District Court Judge Julie A. LaCost has issued her monthly activity report for August.

New criminal cases filed included 10 felonies, three drunk driving felonies, 11 misdemeanors and 12 OWI/OUID misdemeanors.

New civil cases included 25 general civil cases, 21 small claims cases and nine landlord-tenant cases.

New traffic cases included 17 misdemeanors and 96 civil infractions.

There were 24 non-traffic civil infractions.

Criminal dispositions included six guilty pleas to felonies reduced to misdemeanors with one dismissed; nine felony preliminary examinations, all of which were waived over to circuit court; 11 misdemeanors; and 18 operating while intoxicated misdemeanors.

Civil dispositions included 18 general civil cases, two small claims court cases, two landlord-tenant cases and one summary proceeding.

Traffic dispositions included nine misdemeanors and 75 civil infractions.

There were seven non-traffic civil infractions.

No jury trials were held.

Other activity six probation violation hearings, five drug-sobriety court referrals, four sheriff work van referrals, two alcohol counseling referrals, four showcause hearings and six marriage ceremonies.

Funds turned over the Dickinson County Treasurer Lorna Carey totaled $58,293.76 The court trust was $12,320.
