DNR Citizens’ Advisory Council to meet

HOUGHTON — The Michigan Department of Natural Resources’ Western Upper Peninsula Citizens’ Advisory Council will meet at Dee Stadium Ballroom, 700 East Lakeshore Drive, in Houghton from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Eastern time today.

The group is scheduled to receive an update on recent nuisance regulation changes made at the May Michigan Natural Resource Commission meeting.

In addition, presentations by the western district of the DNR Forest Resources Division on the Upper Peninsula trails system and search and rescue operations for the DNR Parks and Recreation Division will be provided.

Additional business includes reports from various division staff and committee reports, including a proposed resolution regarding a moose hunt.

The council members represent a wide variety of natural resource and recreation interests. Agenda items are set by the council members and council recommendations are forwarded to the DNR for consideration.
