Winter storm warning today
IRON MOUNTAIN — A winter storm warning remains in effect until 6 p.m. today in Iron, Dickinson, Delta and southern Schoolcraft counties, the National Weather Service said.
Total snow accumulations of 6 to 14 inches are possible from a storm that began Friday, with the highest amounts across northern Dickinson and Delta counties, forecasters said.
Patchy blowing snow could significantly reduce visibility, making travel very difficult to impossible. Winds could gust as high as 40 mph.
Additional lake effect snow may continue tonight into Sunday. Mainly light accumulations are possible across the southern U.P., the weather service said.
