Anita Meyland program March 5

MARQUETTE — Tickets are now on sale for this community event featuring a presentation by Jack Deo and Ann Hilton Fisher: “Anita Meyland, First Lady of the Arts.”

The event is scheduled for 6:30 to 9 p.m. Eastern time Tuesday, March 5 in the Northern Michigan University Northern Center Peninsula Rooms 1 and 2.

This retrospective chronicles the life of an arts advocate, active in the 1950s, ’60s, and ’70s, who was the founder of Art on the Rocks and various art organizations.

The evening event includes a social hour with a variety of appetizers, cash bar, and a silent auction to benefit the Lake Superior Art Association’s Anita Meyland scholarship.

Tickets are $25, advance purchase only because of limited seating. Tickets are available at the Marquette Arts and Culture Center in the lower level of the Peter White Public Library, or online via PayPal or credit card at lakesuperiorartassociation.org.
