KINGSFORD — Three sophomores from Kingsford High School — Alexander Erickson, Karly Trevillian, and Jack Kriegl — have been nominated to attend the Michigan Youth Leadership conference at Michigan State University.

Students attending this conference must be a sophomore and have positive character traits with demonstrated leadership potential.

MYLead participants experience enhanced self-confidence, critical thinking, creative problem solving, and a desire to serve others. Specific leadership tools are provided.

Students step outside their comfort zone, take time to understand different leadership styles, learn ways to motivate others, as well as engage in goal setting, public speaking and much more.

A key ingredient to these outcomes is the opportunity to interact with peer leaders from across the state.

Erickson is the son of Tony and Laddavone Erickson of Kingsford. He has been a member of the yearbook club, basketball team, 4-H Big Shooters Club, and Sagola Township Sportsmen’s Club.

Trevillian is the daughter of Kevin and Sara Trevillian of Breitung Township. She has been a member of student council, Key Club, Flivver Family Friends, SADD, French Club, and has participated in high school athletics.

Kriegl is the son of Joe and Laura Kriegl of Kingsford. He has been a member of student council and has played football, basketball and baseball at Kingsford High School.

The faculty, staff and administration are looking forward to the various ways these MYLead candidates will use their newly acquired leadership skills to enhance the climate and culture of Kingsford High School.
