MARQUETTE — An 18-year-old male was killed and two other teens injured in a single-vehicle crash early Monday in Marquette Township.

Michigan State Police troopers were dispatched about 4:45 a.m. Monday to County Road 550 near Middle Island Point Road, Lt. Mark Giannunzio said. While en route, troopers were advised the vehicle had three occupants, one of whom had been ejected.

The driver, a 16-year-old male, was taken to UP Health System-Marquette with serious injuries. The front-seat passenger, a 17-year-old female, was also taken to UPHS for evaluation.

The back-seat passenger was trapped in the vehicle and pronounced dead at the crash site. The crash remains under investigation.

Troopers were assisted by the Marquette Police Department, Marquette Township Fire Department and UPHS EMS.
