AMBERG, Wis. — An Amberg man died Sunday morning after an ATV crash in the Town of Amberg, according to the Marinette County Sheriff’s Office.

Devon R. Cotter Nutt, 31, was southbound on Old 38 Road just north of Dow Dam Road when he failed to negotiate a curve, went into a ditch and struck several trees, Marinette County Sheriff Randy Miller said in a news release.

The crash was reported at 8:42 a.m. Nutt was not wearing a helmet; alcohol and speed appear to have been factors in the accident, according to the news release.

The crash remains under investigation by the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources, Marinette County Sheriff’s Office and the Marinette County Medical Examiner’s Office. Also assisting at the site was the Amberg Fire Department.
