Dickinson district court report released for February
IRON MOUNTAIN — Dickinson County Judge Julie A. LaCost has issued her activity report for the month of February.
New criminal cases for the month included 10 felonies, 12 misdemeanors, three felony drunk driving and nine OWI/OUID misdemeanors.
New civil cases for the month included 42 general civil cases, three small claims and six landlord/tenant disputes.
New traffic cases included 121 civil infractions, 14 misdemeanors and 28 non-traffic civil infractions.
Criminal dispositions for the month included five felony guilty pleas with two dismissed, 16 preliminary exams with 16 bound over to circuit court, one felony drunk driving preliminary exam that was waived over to circuit court, seven misdemeanors and five OWI/OUID misdemeanors.
Civil dispositions included 20 general civil and one landlord/tenant.
The district court handled two court trials, one jury trial, six probation violation hearings, 10 drug-sobriety court referrals, one defendant referred to the Alcohol Highway Safety Program, one defendant referred to the Shoplifters Counseling Program, one defendant referred to the sheriff work van and two defendants referred to alcohol counseling.
There were two show cause hearings and seven marriage ceremonies.
Funds turned over to the Dickinson County treasurer totaled $48,161.77. Funds turned over to the court trust totaled $12,122.16.
