3 killed in Marinette County crash
MARINETTE, Wis. — Three people were killed Friday night in a two-vehicle crash on Marinette County Highway A in the town of Stephenson, said Marinette County Sheriff Randy Miller.
Daniel W. Mrotek, 60, of Berlin, Wis., was westbound on Moonshine Hill Road when he failed to stop for the stop sign at County A and collided with a northbound vehicle operated by Thomas J. Robe, 71, of Oak Creek, Wis., the sheriff said in a news release.
Mrotek, who was not wearing a seat belt, was ejected from his vehicle and sustained fatal injuries. Robe and a passenger in his vehicle, Sharon R. Robe, 68, of Oak Creek, Wis., also sustained fatal injuries.
The crash, which was reported at 9:22 p.m., remains under investigation.
Assisting deputies were the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources, Town of Stephenson Fire Department, Twin Bridge Rescue, 180 Auto and Towing, and Tim Witt Chevrolet Towing.
