IRON MOUNTAIN — The second round of voting for The Daily News’ 2025 Pet Idol contest has ended with 17 pets remaining in the competition.

The third and final round of voting starts today and continues until close of business at 5 p.m. Monday, June 9.The 17 pets can be viewed on page 8-A of today’s Daily News, along with rules for voting and the official ballot.

There is no limit on voting but a 25-cent donation is needed per vote. Copies of ballots are accepted.

Proceeds go to the Newspaper in Education program that provides newspapers to area school districts and teachers for classroom use.

The Pet Idol winner will be featured with its owner on the front page of The Daily New and be the NIE program mascot for the 2025-2026 school year.
