IRON RIVER — The annual meeting of the Iron County Watershed Coalition will be at 6 p.m. Wednesday at the West Iron District Library’s conference room in Iron River.

A public presentation of a recent study at Cooks Run will be delivered by biologists from White Water Associates. The Iron County Watershed Coalition was a supporter and participant in the assessment of ecological conditions of the Cooks Run in the vicinity of the old fish rearing facility.

The project’s intent is to provide scientifically collected information to inform decision making regarding human activities that might occur in the future along this stretch of the Cooks Run.

The Cooks Run project was funded by Wilderness Shores Mitigation and Enhancement Fund, established by WE Energies, which funds projects intended to mitigate, improve and enhance fish and wildlife habitat in Iron, Dickinson and Menominee counties.

The public is invited to the Cooks Run presentation.
