Iron Area Health Foundation awards scholarships

IRON RIVER — The Iron Area Health Foundation awarded scholarships this month to students at West Iron County High School and Forest Park High School.

The $500 scholarships are given to seniors who plan to further their education in a health-related field after graduating from high school.

On May 7, six West Iron County seniors received IAHF scholarships: Jackson Strom, who will study biology at the University of Michigan; Sidney Storti, who will study veterinary medicine at Northern Michigan University; Kaitlyn Smith, who will study pre-medicine at Northern Michigan University; Eiley Meske, who will study human biology/pre-medicine at Michigan Technological University; Gracyn Melstrom, who will study nursing at Bellin College; and Sierra Hooper, who will study nursing at Northwest Wisconsin Technical College.

Three Forest Park graduating seniors received scholarships at the Forest Park Scholarship program Monday: Ellie Ayers, who will study nursing at Bellin College; Skylar VanOss, who will study human biology in the pre-optometry program at Michigan State University; and Lilly Post, who will study allied health science in the radiation therapist program at Carthage College. 

IAHF is pleased to be able to present academic scholarships to these deserving students to help them continue their education.
