IRON MOUNTAIN — The first round of voting for The Daily News’ 2025 Pet Idol contest has ended with all 33 pets advancing in the competition.

Second-round voting starts today and continues until close of business Thursday, May 22.

The 33 pets can be viewed on page 6-B of today’s Daily News, along with rules for voting and the official ballot.

There is no limit on voting but a 25-cent donation is needed per vote. Copies of ballots are accepted.

The third and final round will begin Tuesday, May 27, until close of business at 5 p.m. June 9.

Proceeds go to the Newspaper in Education program that provides newspapers to area school districts and teachers for classroom use.

The Pet Idol winner will be featured with its owner on the front page of The Daily New and be the NIE program mascot for the 2025-2026 school year.
