Three killed in Marinette County crash
MARINETTE, Wis. — Three people were killed Friday night in a two-vehicle crash on Marinette County Highway A in the town of Stephenson.
Daniel W. Mrotek, 60, of Berlin, Wis., was westbound on Moonshine Hill Road about 9:20 p.m. when he failed to stop for the stop sign at County A and collided with a northbound vehicle operated by 71-year-old Thomas J. Robe of Oak Creek, Wis., Marinette County Sheriff Randy Miller said in a news release.
Mrotek, who was not wearing a seat belt, died after being ejected from his vehicle. Robe and a passenger in his vehicle, 68-year-old Sharon R. Robe, also of Oak Creek, had fatal injuries as well.
The crash remains under investigation.
Assisting at the crash were the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources, Stephenson Fire Department, Twin Bridge Rescue, 180 Auto and Towing and Tim Witt Chevrolet Towing.
