They are:

— Hope Schuiteman of Felch Township, the daughter of Paul and Mary Beth Schuiteman, is class valedictorian with a grade-point average of 3.98.

Schuiteman participated in volleyball all four years and basketball her freshman and sophomore year.

Extracurricular activities and honors include first-ever Band Student of the Week; Dickinson-Iron Technical Education Center Outstanding Student Award; certificate of achievement, Team Academic All-State, Michigan Interscholastic Volleyball Coaches Association, 2023; Women Engineers, Michigan Technological University Chapter-SWE Certificate of Merit; and National Honor Society since April 2023.

MARY GRACE HOLMES

Outside of school, Schuiteman is part of her church’s pastor nominating committee and volunteers at Camp Elijah and at her church’s Vacation Bible School.

She plans to pursue a degree in business administration with a marketing minor starting at Bay College and completing her degree through Lake Superior State University.

— Mary Grace Holmes of Channing, the daughter of Allen Holmes and Abbey Anderson, is class salutatorian with a 3.95 GPA.

Holmes participated in volleyball and softball for four years and in track for one year. She also helped coach middle school softball one year.

Extracurricular activities and honors include SAP Club; National Honor Society; student council; HOSA-Future Health Professionals, winning first place in HOSA CERT competition; leadership award for softball twice and MVP once; and Skyline Conference honorable mention twice.

Outside of school, Holmes does volunteer work and enjoys spending time with friends and family, playing with her puppy, watching movies and reading books.

She plans to study pre-medicine at Alma College.

North Dickinson County School will have its graduation ceremony at 6 p.m. Friday at the school.
