IRON MOUNTAIN — More than 30 artists will have their work on display at the 58th-annual Art for All event Saturday.
The annual juried show and sale will run from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in Iron Mountain’s City Park.
Artists from Wisconsin, Michigan and Illinois will offer many original works of art, including photography, painting, metal, wood, glass, fabrics, jewelry, pottery and sculpture.
“We are pleased to have four artists that are new to the show this year,” committee member Joy Nasi said.
The public is once again invited to vote for their favorite artists for the “People’s Choice” Award.

Voters will have a chance to win a $10 gas card, committee member Lana Frantz noted.
They have also brought back the tradition of hosting a silent auction featuring artwork by the talented participants. They encourage everyone to come and bid on several pieces that will be up for auction in the pavilion. The auction will close 3 p.m., at which time they will announce the winners.
Proceeds go towards future events and funds the student scholarship winner. This year’s recipient was Alayna Neubert, a Beecher-Dunbar-Pembine High School graduate, who will also have her pieces on display at the park pavilion entrance.
New to this year’s event will be the addition of a hired musical trio. The local group Datura — a collaboration of Thomas Niebrzydowski, Christianna Maule-Tekampe and Natasha Maule-Tekampe — will play from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. They perform classical, Celtic, eastern European and other selections from around the world.
“Thanks to the sponsorship of M.J. Electric, will are able to bring these wonderful musicians,” Frantz said.
The Art For All Committee will have four drawings of $50 each, to be used toward a purchase at the show. Attendees can sign up in the pavilion for the drawings at 11 a.m. and 1 and 2 p.m. Each winner must be present at the time of the drawing.
Bishop Baraga Knights of Columbus 1585 will have food, beverages and other concession items available for purchase. Glazed Nuts also will have a tent among the artists, offering hot nuts for sale.
The Dickinson County Council of the Arts formed the first art festival in 1967. The organization’s original idea was to offer a place for local artists to show their pieces.
After a successful first year, the festival took root and has continued to support artists over the five-plus decades, though the format and locations changed several times to keep the public’s interest.
The Festival of the Arts offered special cultural and entertainment events throughout the summer months through the ’90s. “They used to have square dancing, car shows and even historical home tours as part of the lineup,” Frantz said. “Even brought in the Detroit Symphony for a performance.”
The committee encourages the public to come out and support all the artists Saturday.
“There will be some amazing pieces,” Frantz said.
Admission to Art for All is free.
“We are hoping for great weather on Saturday,” said Frantz, but added the event takes place rain or shine.
