Lundholm’s Standard Service, on the southeast corner of Carpenter Avenue and West Lundington Street in Iron Mountain, is shown during the Christmas holiday season in a photo dated between 1968-69. Information compiled by local historian Bill Cummings indicated the station in the late 1940s was owned by Rudy “Red” Lundholm Sr., with Rudy Lundholm Jr. involved in the business as well. A 2024 obituary for a former mechanic at the station stated he worked there for 31 years “with his best pals, Rudd and Rudy” until the business closed, with additional details that would have placed that closure in about the mid-1980s. But no further clues or documentation could be found online to indicate how long Lundholm’s Standard Station operated at the site. The other photo is the business today, Corner Auto Repair at 301 Carpenter Ave.
