Iron County man faces assault with intent to murder charge

CRYSTAL FALLS – A Crystal Falls Township man is accused of assault with intent to murder and other charges after discharging a firearm Tuesday evening during an argument with his neighbor.

Jeffery Lynn Jablonski, 72, was arraigned today in Iron County District Court on charges of assault with intent to murder, weapons-carrying concealed and malicious destruction of fire or police property, according to a news release from Iron County Sheriff Ryan Boehmke. Bond was set at $100,000 with conditions.

The sheriff’s department responded about 6:52 p.m. Tuesday to a neighbor harassment complaint in Crystal Falls Township.

Before deputies arrived, they were advised the situation had escalated and one man had discharged a firearm before retreating to his residence.

Jablonski was arrested without incident and taken to the Iron County Correctional Facility, according to the news release.

The Iron County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Michigan State Police Iron Mountain Post, Dickinson County Sheriff’s Office Drone Unit, Iron County Central Dispatch and Aspirus EMS.
