IRON MOUNTAIN — The Lake Antoine Association intends to treat areas of Lake Antoine for selective control of the exotic species Eurasian watermilfoil and hybrid watermilfoil.

The treatment is through Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy Permit Number ANC9810520.

Cason Land and Water Management, LLC from Berlin, Wis.,will perform the treatment on Tuesday, July 8.

Warning signs will be posted adjacent to treatment areas and at the landings prior to the treatment. The proposed herbicide for the treatment is ProcellaCOR® (Florpyrauxifen-benzyl).

There are no product-use label restrictions on swimming, fishing, or potable water. However, EGLE has a 24-hour restriction on swimming and entry into treatment areas.

Also, there is a recommended one-day waiting period before using treated water to irrigate ornamental plants following the treatment application, LAA said in a news release.
