More than 11,000 pounds of donations received during Stamp Out Hunger drive

IRON MOUNTAIN — The 33rd annual Letter Carriers’ Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive took place May 10.

The Iron Mountain-Kingsford and Norway Post Offices were joined this year by the Crystal Falls Post Office in the nation’s largest one-day food drive.

In a news release, all of the offices extended gratitude to the community members whose donations helped make this another successful year.

A total of 11,105 pounds of donations were distributed among the local food pantries at the Salvation Army, St. Vincent De Paul and Crossroads Alliance.

“Special thank-yous to the Girl Scouts and all volunteers who donated their time to pick up food in all areas and Subway and Main Street Pizza for their kind contribution,” said the National Association of Letter Carriers Branch 395, Iron Mountain.
