One car rollover in Quinnesec

QUINNESEC — Authorities said a Republic woman escaped serious injury when the Ford SUV she was driving overturned Wednesday afternoon.

According to Dickinson County Undersheriff Christopher Kuenzer, the driver turned eastbound onto U.S. 2 from Lake Antoine Road passing a semi-truck that was also headed eastbound.

The driver indicated her speed was roughly 40 mph. Due to heavy rains the SUV hydroplaned and the driver lost control of the vehicle, which collided with an embankment on the south side of the roadway, overturned and ended up on its roof.

Passers-by helped the driver get out of the vehicle and controlled traffic before law enforcement arrived, according to the news release. She was treated for minor injuries at Marshfield Medical Center-Dickinson in Iron Mountain.

The Dickinson County Sheriff’s Department was assisted by the Breitung Township Fire Department, Integrity Care EMS and Edwards Chevrolet.

Starting at $3.50/week.
