ONTONAGON — The Michigan Department of Transportation is investing about $2.4 million to crack seal, chip seal and fog seal about 24 miles of M-38 from U.S. 45 to Firesteel Road and M-64 from 107th Engineers Memorial Highway to U.S. 45 in Ontonagon County.

The project will include asphalt repairs, shoulder work and pavement markings. Preparation work on asphalt patching and shoulders began June 3, with chip sealing scheduled for July.

Work started this week and is expected to be complete in mid-August.
