Two GB men arrested in Florence County in boy’s death
An investigation continues after two Green Bay, Wis., men were taken into custody in Florence County on Friday in connection with the recent death of a 2-year-old boy.
In a Saturday advisory, Green Bay Police said a 21-year-old man and a 48-year-old man were arrested.
The investigation concerns a 9:15 a.m. call June 22 to the 100 block of Alpine Drive in Green Bay for a 2-year-old boy with serious injuries. The child was transported to a local hospital and then to a facility outside the Brown County area but died Tuesday.
Police say the circumstances are suspicious. No additional details were released.
Florence County Sheriff Teresa Chrisman said Green Bay Police notified her department just before 6:30 p.m. Friday of the homicide investigation and that a suspect appeared to have gone to a cabin in Long Lake. It was further reported he had two felony warrants.
With assistance from Marinette County’s Critical Incident Response Team, the arrest in Florence County was made without incident, Chrisman said in a news release Saturday.
Assisting were the Forest County Critical Incident Response Team, Florence County EMS, Florence County Emergency Management, Marinette County Sheriff’s Office, Green Bay Police Department, Forest County Sheriff’s Office and Aurora Medical Center-Bay Area TEMS Unit.
