Wisconsin Senior Farmers’ Market Voucher Program offered in Florence County
FLORENCE, Wis. — The Wisconsin Senior Farmers’ Market Nutrition Program allows seniors the opportunity to purchase fresh, locally grown fruits, vegetables, and herbs from certified farmers.
Eligible individuals can receive $25 each in Farmer’s Market Vouchers once per year. The vouchers can be used to purchase fresh fruits and vegetables from participating farmers markets until the end of October.
Eligibility:
— Florence County resident
— Age 60 or older (or Native American age 55 or older)
— Gross household income less than 185% of the federal poverty level:
— 1 person household – $2,413/mo
–2 person household – $3,261/mo
— For each additional member, add $848/mo
The Aging and Disability Resource Center of Florence County will be distributing these vouchers at the following locations:
— Aurora Meal Site at the Woodland Cafe, 2030 Calvary Drive, at 1 p.m. Monday;
— Florence Meal Site, 749 Central Ave, at 1 p.m. Tuesday;
— Fence Meal Site, 588 Memory Lane, at 11 a.m. on Wednesday.
Residents may also come to the ADRC to request a voucher during open office hours of 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Thursday. Call ahead to schedule an appointment. There are a limited number of vouchers and they are available on a first come, first serve basis. Individuals can designate someone else to receive the check vouchers as a proxy.
