Northpointe to provide telehealth crisis screenings at Marinette hospital
KINGSFORD – Northpointe Behavioral Health Systems, in partnership with Marinette County, has begun offering crisis screenings via telehealth to Michigan residents who seek help at Aurora Medical Center Bay Area just across the border in Marinette, Wis.
The service was available as needed or requested starting Tuesday, in a collaborative effort to expand access to mental health services in the region, Northpointe stated in a news release.
The initiative reflects a shared commitment to ensuring timely mental health care can be available to individuals in crisis. By leveraging telehealth technology, Northpointe aims to provide immediate support and clinical assessments to those in need, officials stated.
Northpointe thanked the Menominee County Board, the Northpointe Board of Directors, ADAPT Clinic Director Melissa Freeman, Manager of Emergency Services for Aurora Medical Center Bay Area Mary Bodam, the Northpointe Crisis Committee members, Menominee County Sheriff Darrin Kudwa and others who helped make this partnership possible.
“This partnership is a testament to what can be achieved when communities come together to prioritize mental health,” a Northpointe spokesperson said. “We are proud to work alongside Marinette County and Aurora Medical Center Bay Area to ensure individuals in crisis receive the care they need when they need it.”
