IRON MOUNTAIN – Fredrick W. Jensen, 63, of Iron Mountain, passed away Monday, Jan. 13, 2014, at Marquette General Hospital.

Visitation will be Saturday, Jan. 18, from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the Jacobs Funeral Home in Iron Mountain. A celebration of life service will follow Saturday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home.

IRON MOUNTAIN – Fredrick W. Jensen, 63, of Iron Mountain, passed away Monday, Jan. 13, 2014, at Marquette General Hospital.

He was born Feb. 26, 1950, in Iron Mountain, son of Walter and the late Phyllis (Paige) Jensen. Fred grew up in Kingsford and graduated from Kingsford High School, class of 1968. He attended Northern Michigan University and received his bachelor of science degree in social work. Fred worked in many areas of the Upper Peninsula until he suffered a stroke in October 2006.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, the outdoors, coaching and umpiring baseball, announcing for local hockey tournaments, and ski jumping when he was younger. He was an avid Green Bay Packers and Chicago Cubs fan.

Fred is survived by his father, Walter Jensen of Iron Mountain; two brothers, Ted Jensen of Iron Mountain and Mike (Cleora) Jensen of Baraga; three sons, Fredrick (Andrea) Jensen Jr. of Plainwell, Thomas (Davie) Jensen of San Diego, and Bradley Jensen of Appleton, Wis.; three daughters, Corrina (Shaun) Willis of Kalamazoo, Anjanette (Alfred) Kattil of Majuro, Marshall Islands, and Margarita Jensen of Orlando, Fla.; seven grandsons; and eight granddaughters.

Visitation will be Saturday, Jan. 18, from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the Jacobs Funeral Home in Iron Mountain.
