Elmer Maki

HUNTERTOWN, Ind. – Elmer E. Maki, 81, of Huntertown, passed away at 12:50 a.m. on Saturday, March 21, 2015, at Parkview Regional Hospital.

He was born July 18, 1933, the son of the late John E. Maki and Martha Lappi. He served in the U.S. Army and was a Korean War veteran. He earned a bachelor’s degree in chemistry from Northern Michigan University and was an electrical engineer.

Elmer enjoyed coaching baseball, hunting, fishing, traveling and spending time in the outdoors. Surviving are his wife, Ruth K. (Hansen) Maki of Huntertown, Ind.; two sons, Erland J. (Jacqueline) Maki of Fort Wayne, Ind. and Timothy Maki of Huntertown, Ind.; two grand-daughters, Samantha L. Sturges and Nicole Rene Maki. both of Fort Wayne, Ind.; and five sisters, Elsie Cox, Esther Berger, Donna Maki, Patricia Jansky and Linda Banicki.

Burial at Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery in Crystal Falls.
