Franklin L. Sparapani

NIAGARA, Wis. — Franklin L. Sparapani, 77, formerly of Niagara, died Sunday, Jan. 7, 2018, at Gulfside Hospice in Zephyrhills, Fla., with family by his side.

He was born Nov. 7, 1940, in Iron Mountain, son of the late Arthur and Cecelia (Criel) Sparapani. Frank grew up in Quinnesec and graduated from Kingsford High School in 1959. Frank married Janis Remondini on Jan. 15, 1959, and they resided in Niagara. He worked for the Niagara Paper Mill for 40 years, retiring in 1999.

Frank enjoyed hunting, camping and cards. He especially enjoyed spending time at camp with his good friend Ed.

His pride and legacy was his family. His sense of humor and compassion for others will be remembered by those who knew him.

Frank is survived by his wife of nearly 59 years, Janis of Zephyrhills; daughters, Lynn (Bruce) Schoenleber of Saukville Wis., Kelly Sparapani, Waunakee Wis.; sons, Scott (June) Sparapani of Springfield, Mo., Brian (Patti) Sparapani of Niagara; grandchildren, Michael, Michelle, Kristin, John, William, Grace, Erin, Emily, Maria, Jeremy, Robert; great-grandchildren, Harper, Paige, Harrison and Benjamin.

He is further survived by his brother-in-law, David (Iris) Remondini of Saginaw; sister-in-law, Joyce Kubat of Huntington N.Y.; sister-in-law, Gina Sparapani of Italy; step-brothers, Duane (Carol) Oshesky and Jerry (Val) Oshesky; step-sisters, Wilda Tresider and Patsy (Bob) Schultz; as well as nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to his parents, Frank is preceded in death by an infant brother Peter, a brother, Arthur; and step-father, Edward Oshesky.

A memorial mass will be 11 a.m. Saturday, April 21 at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Niagara, followed by a graveside service at Niagara Cemetery.
