Nancy C. Mettlach

Nancy was born on July 11, 1932, in Crystal Falls. She was the daughter of the late Anthony and Minnie (Sartori) Pretto. Nancy was a resident of this area her entire life and was a 1951 graduate of Crystal Falls High School. Her family owned and operated the Midtown Restaurant in Crystal Falls and Nancy worked in several capacities at the restaurant over the years.

On July 6, 1963, Nancy married Richard Mettlach. Together, they raised their family in Crystal Falls and her priority became taking care of her five children. In retirement, she and Dick enjoyed more than 30 winters in Florida. She also loved spending time with family, especially her children and grandchildren.

Nancy is survived by her husband, Dick; her children, Dick (Marti) Mettlach of Maricopa, Ariz., Kay (Marcus) Tanksley of Farmington Hills, Mich., Jean (Larry) Kibler of Princeton, N.J., Carol (Tom) Martwick of New Berlin, Wis., and Jim (Cristen) Mettlach of Canton, Mich.; 11 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

A private funeral Mass is being held at Guardian Angels Catholic Church in Crystal Falls. Fr. Daniel Malone will offer the Mass of Christian Burial.

Burial will be in Evergreen Memorial Cemetery.
