Peter Lawrence Negro

VICTORVILLE, Calif. — Peter Lawrence Negro passed away Jan. 23, 2020, after a long illness, in his hometown of Victorville.

He was born in Iron Mountain on July 31, 1946, the son of the late Lawrence and Dorris Negro.

Pete graduated from Iron Mountain High School in 1964. He attended UW Stevens Point before serving in the U.S. Army, doing two tours of duty in Vietnam.

When he returned to Iron Mountain he was active in sports, especially playing with local fast-pitch softball teams.

He was employed for a short time by Fontana Aviation/Superior Aviation and then UP Riggers & Tool Supply.

He and his wife Kim moved to California in 1993.

Pete is survived by his wife, Kim of Victorville; sisters, Paula (Robert) Copley of Iron Mountain and Mary Negro of Iron Mountain; brothers Charles (Jane) Negro of Oscoda and David (Marybeth) Negro of Norway; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his mother and father-in-law; and a nephew, Mark Negro.

A funeral Mass was held in Monterey Park, Calif., and burial was in Montebello, Calif.
