EDINA, Minn. — Susan Browning Furlow, 66, of Edina, Minn. passed away peacefully with her loving family by her side on Sunday, April 19 , 2020, after a brief illness.
She was born on April 6, 1954, in Hanover, N.H,, the daughter of Dr. William Loomis Furlow and the late Alison Goodman Furlow.
Susan graduated in 1972 from Iron Mountain High School and then earned a bachelor of arts degree in English, journalism, and creative writing from Michigan State University in 1976, graduating with honors. From there she began a dynamic career in the Minneapolis area which culminated in launching her own recruiting company, Furlow and Associates, which she ran successfully over the last 15 years.
Survivors include her father, Dr. William Furlow of Rochester, Minn.; husband, Laurence McCann of Edina; sons, Thomas (Jana) McCann of Chicago and Peter McCann of New York City; her sisters, Barbara Furlow of Rochester and Mary Lyman of Lakemoor, Ill.; brother, Jon (Brenda) Furlow of Minneapolis; cousins, Jane Juchemich of Iron Mountain, William (Patty) Kauper of Carefree, Ariz., Daniel (Jan) Kauper of Madison, Wis., sister-in-law, Laurie Furlow of Omaha, Neb.; and many beloved nieces and nephews.
In addition to her mother, Susan was preceded in death by her dear brother, Scott Furlow. Her family smiles to think of her joy at being reunited with them.
A celebration of Susan’s life will be held in Edina and Rochester, details to be announced at a later date.
