Melvin Pordon

Mel was born in Loretto, and grew up in Norway, where he graduated from Norway High School.

He moved to Milwaukee, where he met the love of his life, Lois Jean Lowery and they were married in 1951. They moved to Franklin, Wis., where they raised their four children.

They moved to Lakewood following his retirement.

Mel was happiest when he was working on projects and helping friends and family.

He also enjoyed gardening, ice fishing, and doing puzzles. He especially enjoyed time spent with his family.

Mel is survived by his children, Dennis Pordon, Becky (Jim) Guckenberger, Marty (Peggy) Pordon and Gerald (Jackie) Pordon; his sister, Rena Altobelli; his brothers-in-law, Duane, Neal and Larry Lowery and sisters-in-law, Lorraine, Genevieve and Mary Lowery and Pat Pardon. He has 11 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Lois Jean (Lowery) Pordon; parents, Fortunato and Nora Pordon; daughter-in-law, Jean Pordon; brothers, Richard and Ernest Pardon; brothers-in-law, Richard, Thomas and Gerald Lowery, and John Altobelli; and sisters-in-law, Doris Schab, Rosemary Lowery, Margaret Lowery and Betty Pardon.

A memorial service will be announced at a future date.
