Rose Marie Forgette

IRON MOUNTAIN — Rose Marie Forgette, 99, was called to her eternal rest May 24, 2020, at Victorian Pines Estates in Iron Mountain.

She was born Sept. 26, 1920, in Niagara, Wis., daughter of the late Martin and Victoria (Broullire) Grimord. The family moved to Quinnesec when she was 2 months old. Rose graduated from Quinnesec High School and was a lifelong resident of the area, except for a short time living in Milwaukee after High School graduation.

When she came back to the area, she worked at Kresge’s and was noted as the first person to use and operate their new donut machine. Later, she helped establish the family businesses of Bob’s Auto Sales and Salvage and also White Birch Village.

Rose was an active member and very involved in St Mary Catholic Church of Quinnesec, where she belonged to the Ladies Circle and also taught CCD.

During the late 1960s, she enjoyed volunteering at the Iron Mountain Veterans Administration Medical Center.

Rose Marie Forgette

Rose was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother and loved cooking, baking, and spending time with her family.

Among Rose’s earlier enjoyments were the casino bus trips, various card clubs, bingo, and traveling around the United States with her sisters.

Rose was a kind hearted and loving person who cared about everyone and we all relied upon her continuous support through prayers and her daily rosaries. She will be truly missed. We will remember and be thankful to the caring staff, caregivers and friends at Victorian Pines Estates. They treated Rose with great kindness, love and respect during her stay.

She is survived by three children, Robert (Patti) Forgette Jr. of Iron Mountain, Candy (Jim) Ellis of Quinnesec, and Debby (Robert) Rochon of Iron Mountain; grandchildren, Dawn (Bill) Caron, Jody (Mark) Pectol, Cathy Forgette, Jennifer (Aman) Sahi, Ashley Ellis, Rob Ellis, Jennifer (Doug) Reed, Shawn Rochon, (Honorary Grandson Jim Bordak), Kelly (Mike) Floriano, and Jared Rochon; great-grandchildren, Cody Caron, Boston and Jaxson Pectol, Michael, Abigail and Andrew Floriano, Hailey and Jared Jr. Rochon, Shad Ellis, Angelia, Cera and Merah Reed; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Celestine Abramavich, Irene Phillips, Charlotte Ellner, and a brother, Martin Grimord.

A private family memorial Mass will be held to celebrate and honor Rose’s life.

Burial will be in the Breitung Township cemetery in Quinnesec.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established in her memory.
