NORWAY — Cheryl Ann McConnell, 62, of Norway, died on Monday, Aug. 10, 2020, after a lengthy battle with cancer, at Florence Health Services in Florence, Wis.

She was born on July 7, 1958, in Norway, the daughter of the late Walter and Ann (Cattelan) Bilski.

Cheryl graduated from Norway High School, Class of 1976.

She worked as a librarian for the Dickinson County Library system for over 25 years, retiring in 2018.

Cheryl enjoyed sewing, crocheting, baking, shopping, socializing with her friends and attending her kids’ and grandchildren’s sports, music and art events..

In her retirement years, she enjoyed her lunch dates with her circle of library friends, and especially enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Cheryl was loving and strong until her final day. Her love, strength and devotion to her children and grandchildren will never be forgotten. She left a legacy and ethic in her children, that is unique and pure, that will be carried on for generations to come.

The family would like to say thank you to all of the doctors, nurses and other staff that helped Cheryl live life beyond the original prognosis. A lot of special memories and discussions were had during that time. We appreciate everything you do.

Cheryl is survived by her sons Jeremy (Erin) McConnell of Brillion, Wis. and Ryan McConnell of Kingsford; daughters, Lindsay McConnell (Brandon TeBeest) of Faithorn, Lauren (Thor) Blankenbach of Norway and Valerie (Jake) Keyser of Green Bay, Wis.; grandchildren, Alexis, Lola, Mariah, Aidan, Celeste, Adam, Brandon, Christopher, Sean, Delaney, Colleen, Daniel, Wyatt and Oliver; brother, Richard (Christine) Bilski; sister, Diane DeGroot; and nieces, Carrie (Michael) Ayers, Stacey (Rick) Snow and Andrea Bilski.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Walter “Sonny” Bilski and brother-in-law Anthony DeGroot.

Family will greet friends on Saturday, Aug. 15, from 9 to 11 a.m. at First Baptist Church in Norway.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday at 11 a.m. at First Baptist Church with Rev. Warren N. Geldmeier officiating.

Interment will follow at the Norway Township Cemetery.

Due to public gathering concerns during this time, it is encouraged that for the safety of yourself and others, masks be worn during visitation and the memorial service.
