KINGSFORD — Connie Ann Harper, 65, of Kingsford passed away Wednesday, Nov. 11, 2020, at U.P. Health Systems in Marquette after a short illness.

She was born Feb. 24, 1955, in Escanaba, the daughter of Wayne and Marlene Carter of Kingsford. She married Joseph A. Harper April 12, 1975, in Kingsford.

Connie, with her family, ran the A & W Restaurant for the past 26 years. When she wasn’t working, she enjoyed going to camp with the family, especially the grandkids.

She is survived by her loving husband of 45 years, Joe; and their four children, Johanna (Don) Sirovy of Kingsford, Christina (James) Strauss of Hermansville, Jennifer Aronson (Mike Bouche) of Ishpeming, and Mark Harper of Kingsford; 10 grandchildren, Austin (Amber Niemi), and Derrick Sirovy of Kingsford, Brandin and Jazmyn Strauss of Hermansville, Brody Aronson of Ishpeming, Trevor Rae, Lexi Roe, Wesley Harper, and Isaac Harper of Kingsford; one great-grandson, Holden Sirovy; her mother, Marlene Carter; two brothers, Dan (Julie) Carter of Traverse City, Mich., and Bryan (Jill Bruno) Carter of Kingsford; two sisters, Cathy (Terry) Mitchell of Kingsford, and Cindy (Dan) Throm of Florence, Wis.; two brothers-in-law, Mike (Wendy) Harper and Aaron Harper; and many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her dad, Wayne Carter; her father and mother-in-law, Joseph and Arlene Harper; brother, Charles Carter; niece, Katie Carter; nephew, Wayne Carter; and granddaughter, Danika Aronson.

Visitation will be 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 16, at the Erickson-Rochon & Nash Funeral Home in Iron Mountain.

A funeral Mass will follow at 11 a.m. at American Martyrs Catholic Church of Kingsford. Fr. Joseph Gouin will offer the Mass of Christian Burial, and burial will be in Iron Mountain Cemetery Park.
