Louis Dallapiazza

NORWAY — Louis Henry “Dalla” Dallapiazza, 87, of Norway, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 24, 2020, at U.P. Health System in Marquette.

He was born on Aug. 27, 1933, in Iron Mountain, the son of the late Louis and Katherine (Burbach) Dallapiazza. Dalla graduated from Norway High School in 1951.

He served his country in the U.S. Army from 1951 to 1953 and was honorably discharged.

Dalla married Rosalie Muraro on July 25, 1959, in St. Stephen Catholic Church in Loretto.

Dalla was an entrepreneur operating Dalla’s Restaurant along with his wife, Rosalie, for 31 years and prior to this he was an insurance agent for many years with Woodman’s Health and Life.

Dalla in his younger years was active in golfing, snowmobiling, hunting/fishing, softball, and loved to go on camping trips with his family and very close friends.

He was a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose and played many rounds of cards there until its closing and then played with his buddies at the senior center.

Dalla was a big presence, no matter where he was at. He had a great sense of humor and always had the ability to make people laugh.

He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years Rosalie; daughter, Jodi Zanetti of Marquette; son, Todd (Mary) Dallapiazza of Fond du Lac, Wis.; his two grandchildren who were the apple of his eye, Anthony and Charli Rose Dallapiazza; brother, Jim (Pat) Dallapiazza of Norway; sisters-in-law, Audrey Dallapiazza of Spread Eagle, Wis., Betty Stachowicz of Niagara, Wis. and Carol Muraro of Iron Mountain; brother-in-law, Mike (Anna Marie) Muraro of Norway; numerous nieces and nephews; great nieces and nephews; as well as special friends, John Geline, Don Benzie and Bob Rossato.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Richard Dallapiazza; in-laws, Feruccio and Angeline Muraro; brothers-in-law, Nick Muraro, Roy “Bootsie” Muraro, Roman Stachowicz and all of his Blackhawk friends.

According to Louis’s wishes, there will be no funeral services at this time.

Interment will be held at the Norway Township Cemetery at a future date
