Richard W. Giancola

Richard was born June 16, 1939, in Iron Mountain, the son of Silvio and Frances (Marine) Giancola. A lifelong resident of the area, Richard worked in finance for the U.S. Postal Service and was the postmaster in Manistique, before retiring as the postmaster in Niagara, Wis.

He married Carolyn Erickson in 1988. Richard was an active member of Holy Trinity Episcopal Church in Iron Mountain.

Richard is survived by his wife, Carolyn; his two daughters, Deb (Rich) Trombly of Mesa, Ariz. and Vicki Giancola of Escanaba; four step-children, Denise (Rick) Lindstrom of Niagara, Steven Lantagne of Niagara, Shelley (Scott) Celello of Iron Mountain and Angela Erickson of Kingsford; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Graveside services for Richard will be held in the spring.
