Gordon Schroder

TIPLER, Wis. — Gordon Schroder, 83, of Tipler, Wis., went to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, Feb. 13, 2021, in Arden, N.C.

Gordon was born in Iron River, to Lloyd and Viola Schroder on Feb. 8, 1938. He attended school in Tipler and Florence, Wis. He married the former Judith Faye Gruman on June 1, 1963.

He drove a logging truck, first as an owner and later for Rockford Smith. He also worked for a time at American Motors in Kenosha, Wis.

He finished his career in the lumber industry for Pride Manufacturing from which he retired. Gordon was actively involved as a member of the Iron River Bible Church where he was a deacon for many years and helped with the Awana clubs. Gordon enjoyed building model cars, tinkering with antique cars, and going on drives.

He is survived by a sister, Meredith (Larry) and his sons, Paul (Tina), Scott (Tonja) and Kurt (Lori) as well as a daughter-in-law, Cathy. He also is survived by grandchildren, Jeff, Sarah, Trevor, Cody (Cassie) Jessica (Eric), Monica, Caleb, Titus, MacKenzie and Samantha, as well as five great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Judy; a granddaughter, Kasey; and a brother, Gary Schroder.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, Feb. 24, from 1:30 to 4 p.m. at Iron River Bible Church. Funeral services will follow at 4 p.m .at the church. At the request of the family and the funeral home, masks are required and please respect social distancing at the church.
