Mary Lynn Nordbeck

GREEN BAY, Wis. — Beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend Mary Lynn Nordbeck passed away peacefully at her home on Wednesday June 16, 2021, at the youthful age of 52.

Born on Oct. 1, 1968 in Iron River, Mary was the youngest child of six to Frank and Diane Bowman. Mary grew up in Gaastra, before moving to the Iron Lake area where she developed her love of the outdoors and fishing with her father.

On Sept. 3, 1993, she married Kurt Nordbeck. The couple made their home in Iron Mountain, and then later in Green Bay.

Second only to her love of family was her love of animals. During her lifetime she had many furry and feathered friends. On occasion she would say that she liked them more than most people. Mary’s passion for music led to her attending many concerts over the years from various genres and artists. Her spirituality led to a deep and fulfilling relationship with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Survivors include her husband, Kurt Nordbeck; children Jonathan (Marrisa) Maenpaa, Andrew Nordbeck and Markita Nordbeck; siblings, Dawn Marie (Anthony) Toonen, Frank (Brenda) Bowman, Laura (Jonathon) Jenkins; grandchildren, Jordan, Makenzie and Alicia Maenpaa; many nieces and nephews as well as an exceptionally special fur baby Willie Nelson.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by siblings John Patrick, Kelly Ann Schmidt and Grandma and Grampa Zyskowski.

Graveside services will be held at Resthaven Cemetery in Iron River, on Saturday, June 26 at 1 p.m. with a celebration of life to be held at the Iron River VFW starting at 3 p.m.
