IRON MOUNTAIN — Cheryl M. Paternoster, 56, of Iron Mountain, passed away Friday evening, July 1, 2022, at Christian Park Healthcare Center in Escanaba.

She was born on Sept. 3, 1965, in Iron Mountain, the daughter of Norman and Jaqueline (Konstad) Paternoster Sr. Cheryl was raised in Iron Mountain and attended school at DCCS Special Education. Cheryl struggled with barriers physically, mentally, and emotionally since birth, but was a strong-willed individual who guaranteed to “leave a mark” on a person’s heart and soul.

She loved anything purple, her doll collection, watch collection, and was happy to acquire any jewelry that you may have on. Cheryl was God’s gift to the family and all of the people she came in contact with. May she rest in eternal peace in the company of her loved ones.

Cheryl is survived by her brothers, Norman (Marie) Paternoster Jr. of Sparta, Mich., and Richard (Amanda) Paternoster of Illinois; aunts and uncles, Pat and Jim Neuens of Green Bay, Wis., Sue and Steve Mikolajczyk of Vulcan, and Mary and Bill Cook of Escanaba; along with several nieces, nephews, cousins, and special caregivers and friends at Belgium Point Assisted Living in Norway.

In addition to her parents, Cheryl was preceded in death by her sister, Kay Marie; and grandparents, Frances and Jack Konstad, and Frida and Oliver Paternoster.

Private family graveside services will be held at the Iron Mountain Cemetery Park with Father Janusz Romanek officiating. The Anderson Funeral Homes of Escanaba and Gladstone are assisting the family and online remembrances can be shared at www.andersonfuneralhomes.net.
