Joseph J. Lanich

WAUSAUKEE, Wis. — Joseph J. Lanich, 80, of Wausaukee, Wis., entered Heaven’s gates on Friday, Aug. 5, 2022. He died peacefully surrounded by his family.

He was born March 9, 1942, in Marinette, Wis. Joe was a lifetime resident of Wausaukee and an avid Ranger fan. He wore out the bleacher seat from the numerous games he attended.

Joe married Ann Kessel in 1961, and they raised three children, Jeff (Kim) Lanich, Dawn (David) Seidel, and Julie (Randy) Willis.

Joe worked as a logger his entire life and still used a saw in his later years. He totally enjoyed the great outdoors, whether it be logging, hunting, fishing, or gardening.

Joe’s passion belonged to his children and grandchildren, attending all their sporting, extra-curricular, and family events. He was blessed with six grandchildren whom he cherished deeply, Lakin Lanich, ShaKeal (Ethan) Seidel, Xaarki (Curtis) Gamerdinger, Riley Willis, Hartley (Nick) Naud, and Joseph Willis. Joe’s heart’s delight was for his four great-grand-girlies, Rubi, Olive, Korra, and Kinnli. They were all angels in his eyes.

“We all love you, Dad/Grandpa! We miss you so much!”

A visitation will be held on Saturday, Aug. 20, from 11 a.m. until noon at the Northwoods Bible Chapel in Pembine. A celebration of Joe’s life will take place at noon, at the chapel, followed by a reception.
