Nancy Norris

RICHMOND, Va. — Nancy Lorraine Peterson Norris passed away Aug. 3, 2022, after a brief hospitalization with her twin sons, Larry and Gary, by her side.

Nancy was 92 years old and lived a long, full and abundant life. She was born on a dairy farm in the middle of a snowstorm in northern Wisconsin in 1930. After graduating from Kingsford High School and going to Chicago in 1947 to earn money for the family, she married Lawrence Cochran in 1950.

The twins were born in 1957. They were the joy of her life. According to Nancy, they were perfect and never did anything wrong.

She married Robert Norris in 1981 and moved back to her hometown, Aurora, Wis. in 1991. There she lived in the country not far from where she was born and enjoyed nature.

Birds at her birdfeeders brought her special joy. Nancy brought joy and happiness to everyone she met and always put others ahead of herself. Nancy will be missed but is now dancing with Jesus.

She is survived by her sons, Larry (MaryKaye) and Gary (Cindy) Cochran; her stepdaughter, Bonnie Kottke; her grandchildren, Clifton (Brittany), Jason, Charles (Molly), Samuel, and Lauren Cochran; great-grandchildren, Hudson and Huxley Cochran; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, John Oscar and Jennie Martina Peterson; sisters, Margaret (Albert) Bock, Caroline (Frank) Gould, and June (Ralph) Anderson; her brother, Robert (Miriam) Peterson, and her husbands, Lawrence Cochran and Robert Norris.
