MERRIMAN — Paula Jo Alessandrini, 60, of Merriman, passed away Sunday, July 31, 2022, at her home.
She was born March 15, 1962, in Neenah, Wis., daughter of the late Robert E. and Geraldine (Cavalieri) Piper. Paula, at a young age, relocated to the Iron Mountain/Kingsford area from Neenah and graduated from Iron Mountain High School. She served as a secretary for many years at Liuna Local 1329.
Paula’s family and friends were most dear to her, and she loved the time spent with her grandchildren. She was a devoted mother and Nona.
Paula enjoyed sewing, painting, the arts, making bracelets, camping, and traveling. She was a lover of animals, particularly all the dogs she had throughout the years, especially Bella and Luna. Paula also loved to play poker with the guys.
Survivors include two sons, Gene “Geno” (Sarah) Alessandrini and Anthony “Tony” (Miranda) Alessandrini, both of Merriman; one daughter, Sarah (Michael) Glanville of Kingsford; three brothers, Rodney (Kris) Piper of Sagola, Jeff (Debbie) Piper of New London, Wis., and Kevin (Sherri) Piper of Iron Mountain; one sister, Kelly Tchokreff of Iron Mountain; five grandchildren, Gia, Jack, Anthony Jr., Isaac, and Lilah; mother-in-law, Marlene Alessandrini of Iron Mountain; three sisters-in-law, Anna (Dennis) Martin of Merriman, Kathy Piper of Iron Mountain, Kindra (Scott) Williams of Kingsford; one brother-in-law, Dale (Cathy) Alessandrini of Iron Mountain; special friends, John and Kathy Wahoviak of Kingsford; pets, Luna and Bella; numerous other nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
In addition to her parents, Paula was preceded in death by one brother, Randy Piper.
A celebration of Paula’s life will take place on Saturday, Aug. 6, from 10:30 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the Jacobs Funeral Home in Iron Mountain. The celebration will continue at Bimbo’s, Northside of Iron Mountain, at 1:30 p.m.
