Myrna D. Hicks

Myrna was born March 5, 1941, in Norway, daughter of the late Stanley and Gertrude (Peterson) Bilski. She graduated from Vulcan High School, Class of 1959 and went on to obtain her cosmetology license.

She married Bruce Hicks on Feb. 6, 1960, in Iron Mountain.

A lifelong resident of the area, Myrna started her career as a beautician and eventually worked for the Catholic school in food service for several years.

Myrna was a member of St. Mary and St. Joseph Catholic Church of Iron Mountain.

She was a talented artist and enjoyed painting and making ceramics.

Myrna loved spending time with family and especially enjoyed going to camp with Bruce and their dog, Shadow.

She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Bruce; her three sons, Dan (Vijay Uttam) Hicks of New York, N.Y., Kevin (Tina) Hicks of Kingsford, and Craig (Deborah) Hicks of Iron Mountain; a sister, Dorleen (Vance) Uhazie of Iron Mountain; six grandchildren, Kelly (Steven) Aldridge, Corina (Chad) Koeberl, Taylor Hicks, Carlye Hicks (Garrett Bonetti), Emmye Hicks and Sawyer Hicks; seven great-grandchildren, Blake, Jacob, and Allie Aldridge, Ruby and Lennon Koeberl, and Colt and Reid Hicks; and several nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 22, at Cemetery Park in Iron Mountain. Fr. Janusz Romanek will officiate.
