IRON MOUNTAIN — James Kenneth Poquette, 84, of Iron Mountain died Thursday, Oct. 13, 2022, at the Marshfield Medical Clinic Dickinson in Iron Mountain with his family by his side.

James was born on Oct. 25, 1937, in Spalding, the son of the late Fred and Eldora (St. John) Poquette. He was raised in Kingsford, and he married Gloria Miller on July 2, 1960, at American Martyrs Catholic Church in Kingsford.

James worked at Bacco Construction, Teamsters Local 486, for 32 years, and he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and going to camp. Most of all, James enjoyed working on everything and fixing things he bought at rummage and estate sales, and for over 50 years, he always had a huge garden every year.

James is survived by three daughters, Cindy (Alan) Beck of Republic, Shelley Rose of Pembine, Wis. and Jean (Carl Reed) Poquette of Granite Bluff; five grandchildren, Brandon Rose, Brenda (Mike) Ross, Jaime (William) Langrick, Christopher Reed, and Nicholas (Ariana) Reed; 10 great-grandchildren, Taylor, Taryn, Trystan, and Talyn Rose, and Addison, Austin, and Ayden Ross, Max and Colton Reed, and Tahlia Langrick; and many nieces and nephews.

James was preceded in death by a sister and a brother.

Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 22 at the Erickson-Rochon & Nash Funeral Home in Iron Mountain. Funeral services will follow at 1 p.m. at the funeral home. Luncheon will be held at the Funeral home after the service.
