Burdelle Rust

BEECHER, Wis. — Burdelle Ernest Rust, 83, of Beecher, Wis., died unexpectedly at home on Wednesday March 15, 2023.

He was born in Manitowoc Wis., on July 15, 1939, son to the late Fred and Stella (Huhn) Rust.

Burdelle grew up on the family farm, and attended school at Spring Valley, Wis. and Kiel, Wis. After high school he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps and after serving his country he was honorably discharged.

Burdelle married Sandra Kohlmeier on Jan. 17, 1959. They later moved to Racine, Wis. where he worked for Case Co. Following that they moved to Fond du Lac, Wis. and he began working for the Public Works Department for 28 years. He retired in 2001 and relocated to Pembine, Wis.

He was involved in the Eagles, American Legion Post 461, and volunteered much of his time to Karen’s Food Pantry. Burdelle had many hobbies, a few of those being hunting, fishing, and watching wildlife. He also enjoyed riding motorcycles with his son and riding his ATV.

Survivors include his children, Donald Rust of Poynette Wis., Todd (Debbie) Rust of Waupun, Wis., Kim (Wayne) Culver of Menasha, Wis. and Jodi Ori of Fond du Lac, Wis.; grandchildren, Derek, Daniel, David, Destiny, Alexis and Brandon; great-grandchildren, Katalina, Wyatt, Francine, Xhian, Skylar, Camilla; and brother, Darryl.

Burdelle was preceded in death by his wife, Sandra; a son, Eugene; foster daughter, Lolly Bohn; brothers, Lloyd, Dallas, Eugene and Dale; sisters, Charmaine, Verla Belle and Danielgene.

Visitation will be held at Roubal Funeral Home on Saturday, April 1, from 1 p.m. until time of service at 3 p.m. Pastor Paul Hueter will be officiating. Full military honors will be provided by Pembine American Legion Post 461.

In Lieu of Flowers, the family requests that Burdelle’s memory be preserved through donations to Fortune Lake Lutheran Camp.
