Paul M. Paris

KINGSFORD — Paul M. Paris, 75, of Kingsford, passed away suddenly after a fall at his home.

He was born Oct. 8, 1948, in Kent County, Mich., son of the late Russell W. and Virginia R. (O’Dowd) Paris.

Paul was an avid hunter and bear hunting was his favorite. He enjoyed fishing and trapping as well.

Paul grew up learning to love the great outdoors in lower Michigan. Paul’s parents would frequently take him and his older sister camping, and his dad taught him to hunt. They occasionally visited the Upper Peninsula and it left a true impression on him.

Paul worked at Miller Equipment in Grand Rapids, Mich., until his retirement in 2003. He owned an antique shop at the age of 15 and always loved antiques. After retirement, Paul came up here to live and settled in Kingsford, and a year later, he bought his camp in Felch.

In 2013, he met his wife, Julianne, and they married in 2021.

Paul will truly be missed by many.

Paul is survived by his loving wife, Julianne Paris of Kingsford; her two children, Tabatha (John) Bohlmann of La Croix, Wis., and Tara (Ricky) Green of Appleton, Wis.; mother-in-law, Annette Doerr of Grand Rapids; many cousins; his two great buddies, Eddie and Tim; neighbors, Rob and Kathy; and by his favorite dog, Ford.

In addition to his parents, Paul was preceded in death by one sister, Sharon Brinks.

Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. Friday, May 10 at Jacobs Funeral Home in Iron Mountain.

Prayers will follow at 2 p.m. at the funeral home.

Burial will be in the Felch Cemetery.
