Bernice Simonetti

She was born Jan. 20, 1930, in Gourley, the daughter of the late Florian and Dagmar (Erickson) Rhode Sr.

She married John Simonetti on Aug. 4, 1951, in Spalding; he preceded her in death on Jan. 16, 2022.

She enjoyed cooking, baking, cross stitch, coloring and canning. Bernice loved spending time with her grandchildren.

She is survived by her daughter, Anna Maria (Paul) Bafile of Iron Mountain; son, Joseph Simonetti of Loretto; grandchildren, Joseph (Maxine) Simonetti, Jacob (Heather Dake) Simonetti, Cassandra (Chris) Broeders and Adriana (Joshua) Gudwer; great-grandchildren Jaedyn, Jill, Kolton, Letty and Stanley; brother, Blaine (Gloria) Rhode of Carney; many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her brothers, Robert, Florian, Gerald, Raymond, Clifford, Floyd, Allen, and Howard Rhode and sisters, Sally Rhode and Betty Waldo.

According to Bernice’s wishes there will be no funeral services.

Interment will be held at the Norway Township Cemetery.
