OCONOMOWOC, Wis. — Beth Joan (Kovochich) Remitz, M.S., LPC, NCC, 72, of Oconomowoc, Wis., passed away on Friday, May 30, 2025, with her husband and her sons by her side, at Marshfield Medical Center-Dickinson in Iron Mountain.

She was born on July 11, 1952, in Iron Mountain, to the late Anton and Viola (Bordeaux) Kovochich.

She was raised in Iron Mountain and was a graduate of Iron Mountain High School, class of 1970. After graduation, she attended Mount Mary College in 1974. She obtained her masters of science degree at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater. She was a licensed professional counselor and national certified counselor.

She married Joseph Michael Remitz on June 7, 1975, in Cedarburg, Wis. She was of the Catholic Faith and attended Immaculate Conception Church in Iron Mountain and St. Jerome in Oconomowoc.

Her hobbies included being a cantor, singing at Mass, weddings, and funerals. During her high school years, she was in the marching band, concert band, and pep band. She played the clarinet and bass clarinet. In her pastime, she enjoyed reading and visiting with her grandchildren who lovingly referred to her as their “Fuffy Doodle.”

She is survived by her loving husband of almost 50 years, Joseph Remitz; sons, Joseph Michael (Tracy Gottlieb) Remitz Jr., and Jacob Roy (Jennifer) Remitz; grandchildren, Elsie Remitz, Ben Remitz, and Ryan Remitz; brother, Howard Kovochich; and sisters, Patricia Feudner, and Antoinette Buechel.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Edward Kovochich.

Visitation will be from 9 until 10:30 a.m., on Wednesday, June 4 at Jacobs Funeral Home in Iron Mountain. Prayers will be recited at 10:30 a.m., at the funeral home.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m., on Wednesday, at Immaculate Conception Church in Iron Mountain, with Rev. Fr. Michael Chenier officiating. A luncheon will be held immediately after Mass at the Parish Hall.

Burial will take place at Cemetery Park in Iron Mountain.
