Norway — Robert “Bob” Joseph Rossato, 92, of Norway passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 10, 2025.

Bob was born on April 12, 1933, in Loretto, son of the late Orazio and Theresina (Mauro) Rossato.

Bob grew up in Loretto and graduated from Vulcan High School. After graduation he served his county in the United States Army.

When returning home he married Georgina Kososki on Aug. 10, 1957 at St. Barbara Catholic Church in Vulcan.

He worked for Chiocchi and Girard Logging for several years and moving over to Niagara Paper Mill as a paper winding operator on #4 machine and retired in 1993.

Bob was a devoted husband and father. He loved to spend time with his family and friends, mingling at camp, hunting deer and rabbits where he earned his nickname “Beagle,” fishing with his crew, golfing and gardening. One of his favorite sayings was “pay attention” although there are many more.

Bob is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Georgina; a daughter, Robyn (Rick) Nelson of Quinnesec; two sons, Dane (Renae) Rossato of Vulcan and Ross Rossato of Norway; five grandchildren, Gina (Chris) O’Connell, Stone Rossato, Canyon Rossato, Jack Rossato, Dominic Rossato; three great-granddaughters Nova, Presley and Rayna; and sister-in-law, Helen Rossato.

In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by his sister, Gloria; his brothers, Bernard, Dofo and Mario; and sisters-in-law Beverly and Marilou.

Family will greet friends on Wednesday, June 18, from 10 to noon at St. Barbara Catholic Church in Vulcan.

A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday at noon at the church, with Fr. Marty Flynn officiating.
